From December 21st, 1993, till February 8th, 1994, Lars Kraaemmer was isolated in a 5 foot by 5 foot by 6 foot box in complete darkness. The art project took place in the “Artemisia Gallery” in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. It bore the title: “RETREAT”
During the stay, Kraemmer made daily drawings that was pinned to the walls of the gallery during the period. Artist, Wiktor Sandowicz, cared for the practical aspects on the outside of the box, and was the key person in charge of communications with media etc.
